Greetings! Whether you're a seeker in search of truth, a prodigal returning to faith, or a new member of the community looking for a church, we invite you to be our guest. Here, we seek to embody the love and to live out His word. This means open arms and an open Bible. Refuge is a hospital for sinners, a home for spiritual maturity, and an outpost for touching the world.
We know that going to a church for the first time can be a little intimidating and you probably have numerous questions: What's the church like? How long is the service? Will the people welcome me?
Coming to Us
Getting here is quite easy. We are located at 595-597 Quincy Street, in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn between Lewis and Stuyvesant Avenues.
Everyone is Welcomed
People of all ages, races, nationalities, and social standings can come and worship at Refuge. When you arrive for Sunday worship celebration, greeters will welcome you at the door. Our ushers will direct you to a seat, in which you are free to share with them your seating preference. Our worship experience is usually an hour and a half in length.
Refuge is a Place for Children Too
Children are a priority here at Refuge. While you are enjoying our magnetic service in the main sanctuary. You elementary aged child can experience Jesus at their level during our Children's Church. Not only does Refuge have trained, loving children ministry workers for the little ones but we also value the safety and care of your children, and we have measures in place to protect them. All of our children ministry workers receive background checks before working with our children.

Wear what is comfortable to you! Refuge is a "come as you are" church. Jeans and ties are equally welcomed.
We Love the Opportunity to Greet Guests
We usually ask first-time guests to stand so we may recognize you. Do not worry or run away, you are not expected to say anything. We would love to give you a gift and a Welcome Packet, which includes information about all our ministries and staff. Also included is a copy of our monthly bulletin which gives details of special announcements, activities and events for all ages. We ask that first-time guests complete a card with contact information so that we can send you a note or email the following week.
You Do Not Have to Feel Obligated to Make a Financial Contribution
Contributions are given as an act of worship for attendees who call Refuge their home. We teach and believe in Biblical stewardship. For guests, your presence is a gift to us. We do not expect our guests to contribute financially, though you are certainly welcomed to if you wish.
A tour through our website to learn about us is wonderful. However, the real church is about relationship, with God and with each other. After you have browsed our site, we hope you will meet us in person. You are always welcome at Refuge Church of God. Why not come worship with us this Sunday?
